Sports and Activities

Athletics at VVS are competitive and non-competitive, mainstream and alternative. The weather is perfect for outdoor activities all year, so that is usually where you will find us. The red rocks of Sedona are our gym. Our facilities include an outdoor basketball court, soccer field, riding stables, rock-climbing wall, fitness center, and dance space. Golf and tennis facilities are nearby.

    Soccer

Our co-ed soccer team has three league championships in three years under its belt.  The team plays competitively in the Northern Arizona Athletic Association on one of the most beautiful fields in the country.  The emphasis in practice remains on inclusion,  improving skills, teamwork, and having fun.
  • Equestrian Program

With 30 horses in our school herd we are able to offer afternoon horseback riding on the beginner, intermediate and expert levels.  Students can take trail rides each afternoon or chose a day or two to work on their English riding skills in our arena.  Competition is open to most riders with monthly gymkhanas with the Central Verde Gymkhana Association and English competitions in Flagstaff and Scottsdale. Riders can also take group, full-moon rides.
